Design has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I won my first art contest in 1st grade and in Middle School I wallpapered by room with magazine ads. I began my career as a designer for the phone book and it didn’t take long for me to realize I craved more. In 2007 when I was 6 1/2 months pregnant with my son, I quit my full-time job to start Worx & Co and haven’t looked back.
Over the years that calling for “more” arose again as I scratched and fought to keep a business alive. I found myself exhausted, cash-poor, anxious, and resentful. The business I owned actually owned me. Through years of self exploration, therapy, facing my subconscious, and a few dozen bottles of Chardonnay, I had my own aha moment: I gave away my power.
For years I sought after approval, validation, and love from external sources. I made mistakes. I made myself small. I allowed negativity to stay longer than it should have. And then I decided enough was enough. It was time for me to fully and unapologetically step into my light and pursue the next chapter of my entrepreneurial journey – helping other passionate female business owners to stand in THEIR light and take their powerback.

I understand the highs and lows that come along with owning a business and feel passionately compelled to talk about the crazy shiz that happens in our heads. Behind every business is a human facing the same challenges and victories that you are. Whether it’s on The Gutsy Podcast or on stage, I embrace and encourage vulnerability.
I work with driven female entrepreneurs to identify who they truly are so they can take their Powerback in business and create a cohesive and consistent brand presence that reflects the “real” them and attracts the right clients.

Gutsy shows up in all forms and fashions. It’s being afraid of the unknown but choosing to take action. It’s trying something new – not knowing if it will fail or succeed. It’s standing up for yourself, taking a risk, and following your gut. If it’s not a HELL YES, it’s a NO – and being gutsy separates the successful ones from the wishers.
